Special Studio
Special Studio's goal is simple - use plastic waste to make new things and clean up the planet.
All of their products are 3D printed locally, using at least 98% recycled plastic combined with additive manufacturing to produce new objects - reducing waste and lowering the environmental impact.
Due to a lack of material processing infrastructure in New Zealand, the raw materials used in the products are imported from the Netherlands. However, as they continue to grow, Special Studio is committed to building the capacity required to process locally sourced plastic waste. With your support, they are are able to reinvest in new machinery, software and people that can help us to recycle more plastic, right here in New Zealand.
Special Studio’s other long-term goal is to develop the capability to 3D print large-scale products and structures including furniture, boats, homes, public facilities and more.
