Kay Bojesens wooden Monkey, is a timeless beloved classic of Scandinavian design. This mini monkey is crafted from FSC oak wood and it measures 9.5cm in height. It is legally harvested limba wood which complies with the European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) and guarantees responsible harvesting and better living conditions for locals living close to the plantations.
Despite its size, the little Monkey, of course, has just as much charisma and charm as its older siblings in Kay Bojesen’s troupe. As the teak is from a plantation, there may be dark spots and stripes, but exposure to air and light will reduce these over time. Accordingly, there will be variations in the wood from monkey to monkey, making every single monkey utterly unique.
Bojesen's monkey with its mischievous look and light coloured belly has transformed kids’ rooms into jungles and sparked dreams of far-away places ever since its original creation in 1951. It has a permanent role on Danish television as the mascot of wildlife programs and as a prize in quiz shows. Every monkey consists of 31 wooden parts and is crafted by hand in Denmark. Due to slight variation in shade and wood grain, the monkeys have a unique and charming personality.
